Have you dreamed of flying lately?

Yes, I had a great flying dream last weekend. After having a series of nightmares about work for 3 days in a roll, it was certainly a welcome change.

First my mom, John (my bro) and I went on an airplane for L.A. The inside of the plane was like a shuttle bus, but instead of normal 2 rows of seats there were filthy folding beds that you could lay on. 3 of them diagonally in a row. Mom wasn't happy and said something like she wish we were driving to L.A.

Then Jack and I went to this narrowed, swimming pool size in-door physical training camp. Only everyone being trained were young Chinese women, except Jack and I (I guess). Since we were late comers, all these women looked down on us.

In this qualification exam, we were supposed to walk from one side of the room to the other. Jack and I were the first to get to the other side, because we ran. The trainer was impressed. Then the rusty door was opened, and there were a lot of people coming after us from outside.

Jack and I rushed out of the room and started running fast. We ran and ran, then all of a sudden, we started flying. I flew over a big park, high above the green lawn and trees. I could see people playing balls and relaxing under the trees. I just enjoyed it.

There is something about Spring

The abundant rain;
the green grasses and hills;
the lively chirping birds;
the chilly winds or just the air.
Made me want to plant some seeds.
I put the sprouted potatoes in wet soil,
and left it out under the sun and rain.
While I cooked my vegetables at night,
I made big plans for this Spring.
I could also try carrots, cilantro,
green onion, and sweet basil.
Hmm.. can I plant asparagus using its stalk?
I wondered...

My mom and grilled cheese sandwich

Last weekend when I went to hangout with my mom, she told me, with excitement, her discovery of making grilled cheese sandwich.

I said: "How do you make it, you don't have a toaster." She kinda gave the toaster away when she moved from a house to the new condo.

She said (in Chinese, of course): "I didn't need a toaster. I grilled the 2 slices of bread in a non-stick pan, and put a cheese on top of one of them. Then put mayonnaise, lettuce and ham. And the sliced bread is only $1.5 a loaf, it can go a long way. Even your brother liked it."

John said: "Yeah, it's good enough for lunch. That's what some people have for lunch normally."

We are so easy to be impressed and amazed. It isn't a bad thing, I suppose.

An awful dream

I had one of the worst dreams last night.

I dreamed that the earth's atmosphere was going to be collapsed, and we were all going to suffocate. President Obama calmly announced it in his last State Of Union speech. Just like the president in the movie 2012 did. We quietly bit farewell to people whom we cared and loved. We were all so terribly depressed.

As we were watching the last shed of light in the sky closed up, I felt that the air started to become slowly thin up. Many people gathered in one place, waiting for the earth to collapse to form a black hole.

Salsa

3 or 4 large beef steak tomatoes (diced)
6-8 large roma tomatoes (diced)
1 bunch green onion (chopped up)
1 bunch cilantro (chopped up)
1 bunch of garlic, or 5 cloves to 1 bunch (minced)
2-3 jalapeno, same number of Serrano pepper (minced)
juices of 2-3 limes
salt to taste

Mix everything together, add salt last to remove the sweetness.
You can make variations such as changing limes to lemon, green onion to yellow onion, etc.

A snapshot of a busy woman's life

Here is an example of the chaotic life which I live, that can explain the name of this blog. I know my busy life is more of a norm than an exception in today's society.

7:11 AM (based on the bedroom clock which was approximately 5 minutes faster)
- Waken by Amy's warm and moist tongue that smelled like dog food.
- Protected myself from Jake, who was stomping around the bed with a toy pheasant in his mouth.

7:11 - 7:30 AM
- Coffee, family time, played with the dogs.
- Agreed to carpool with Jack to work, with the following condition.
- Only if we rush because Jack had to be in the office by 9:30 AM, and I had an 8 AM conference call, which I could join on the way to work by phone.

7:30 - 7:45 AM
- Showered
- Put on the first work outfit I managed to fish out from a pile.
- Quickly brushed my teeth and brushed wet hair.

7:45 - 7:59 AM
- Packed computer and notebooks.
- Pulled conference call number for dial in at 8.
- Packed lunch - leftover carrots and celery sticks with home-made hummus, babybel cheese (2), apple sauce. Made trial mix with granola, peanuts, dry cranberries and dry blue berries.
- Misplaced cell phone.
- Called cell phone to locate it, but ring and no answer.
- Jack was sitting in the started car waiting.
- Rushed to the car to ask if Jack took my cell phone. "Nope".
- Rushed back home.
- Found cell phone in the purse - out of juice.
- Turned off heater and lights.
- Locked the house.
- Got in the car.

8 AM (Accurate time)
- First one to dial in for conference call using Jack's cell phone.
- Charged my cell phone.
- Hitched a ride to work with Jack.

8 - 8:35 AM
- Joined conference call, on mute.
- Enjoyed watching the ocean with high tide.
- Saw nice fogs hanging around the mountains and the water - beautiful.

8:35 AM
- Got to Foster City office, still on conference call.
- Switched phone with Jack.
- My cell phone was 20% charged, dialed back in using my own phone.

8:37 AM
- Walked into the office.
- Turned on the computer.
- Showed up on Sametime.

8:45 AM
- Conference call was over.
- Impressed the manager by being in the office early.
- Made coffee and got water.

Started working by 9 AM.
